Welcome To Bodhi Shambala

Bodhi Shambala Yoga Studio is located in the community of Bahia Ballena, Osa, Costa Rica. The Bodhi Shambala is an open-air studio that forms part of the Bodhi Surf + Yoga lodge, a property surrounded by lush gardens, a creek, and a variety of birds. “Shambala” translates to a place of peace and tranquility, which is what we strive to create for your yoga classes.

Yoga Classes at Bodhi Shambala

Yoga classes at Bodhi Shambala yoga studio are primarily Vinyasa Flow yoga classes. Our weekly class schedule of Vinyasa Flow are multi-level classes, while private yoga classes are structured to the needs of the student(s).

Weekly Yoga Classes

These classes are multi-level Vinyasa Flow yoga classes. Drop-ins are welcome and class cards are available for purchase. Individuals with no yoga experience should consider a taking a private yoga class first.

Private Yoga Classes

Private yoga classes are best suited for beginners interested in obtaining a solid foundation, private groups, or individuals with special interests such as maternity yoga.

Pilar is the owner of Bodhi Shambala Yoga Studio. She teaches weekly Vinyasa Flow classes and private maternity yoga classes.

Suzanne is a nature loving mama dedicated to the practice of Hatha Yoga because it has the tools to ease the discomforts of living.

ARRIVE EARLY

Please arrive for class with enough time to sign-in and set up your practice space. If it is your first time, please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start-time in order to register.

EMPTY STOMACH

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. We recommend not eating two hours prior to and after your class though drinking plenty of water is advised!

RESPECT SAVASANA

Savasana — the final relaxation at the end of the class — is an extremely important time for your practice; once in Savasana, we ask that you stay until the class is completely over as not to disrupt the other students.

5-MINUTE GRACE PERIOD

Respect your fellow practitioners: attendees who arrive 5 minutes after the class start-time will not be admitted.

ELECTRONICS-FREE SPACE

Please do not bring your cell phone or any other electronic devices to the yoga space.

NO SHOES ON PLATFORM

The Yoga Shala is for bare feet only; we ask that you leave your shoes downstairs.

HEALTH DISCLOSURE

Please mention any pre-existing injury or medical condition to the instructor before class starts.

MAT USE

If you are using mats from the studio, please clean them before leaving.

ADULT CLASSES

Our regular yoga classes are customized for adults. If you would like your children to be present during class or participate in a yoga session, we are happy to schedule a private family yoga session.
